Recently many people have noticed that their JoyCon has started to move and drift characters on screen on its own. Replacing the stick itself is a good way to fix the problem, but what is causing it and is the JoyCon in need of a revision to fix the problem at a manufacturing level?

It's still the same part, but it's all we have to work with for now.
I just got a can wd40 (oilpray) an sprayed it in the analog stick while it was in the joy con maybe that sound really dumb but it worked and since then I haven't had one problem with my joycons
Oh man! These are literally designed just like the original PSP 1000 analogs that horrible WHY …why would they do this.
The plastic gets little bits of garbage that builds up ….I've cleaned the PSP ones they ain't fun its doable but ain't worth it .
I am sending my joycons in both are drifting Nintendo will send free joycons now.
I'm still gonna buy a pack of these analogs cause they SUCK its always gonna go bad with time.
It’s been 3 days since I got my switch and the joycons are already damaged with minimal use. The sticks are popping down and not registering a click and the buttons wiggle and take lots of pressure to tap. As a console gamer these controllers are horrible compared to my xb1 controllers and triggers. And the price of 80 bucks is not worth it AT ALL. I would pay 40 bucks max for 2 joycons

Thanks for this video, my son was complaining that one joystick was drifting a lot, after watching your vid I decided to blow into it for a good few minutes to see if it would blow any dirt or dust away, and hey presto! It’s worked!! No more drifting 😁
Why didn't they make the Joycon stick like the 3DS's? It feels better imo.
